Great sports-filled weekend behind us...

The Smiths came to Eugene to visit and we were able to catch up and have some fun. We went to the track meet at Hayward, checked out the football scrimmage as well as cheered on the marathon runners in our front yard. Sunday morning made me realize that it does not matter how well or fast you run; all that matters is that you sign up and finish. We sat in chairs on our front lawn with a pot of coffee and cheered on everyone that participated in the marathon. It was quite inspirational. I did well last week and actually went on a couple jogs, Nicole said she will help in teaching me how best to conserve my energy so that I do not tire as quickly as I do. Thinking I will sign up for a 5k or Half Marathon soon......anyone want to join?

The Only Things That Matter....

This past week has been a tough one - job hunting...trying to find a place to live in Bend...deciding whether to move to Bend or Portland...worried that we won't find a place in time, etc. With all the stress and big decisions and moves ahead of us, I sit back and realize how happy I am. It does not matter where we move to or what we have to do job wise as long as we are healthy, happy, and have eachother....nothing else matters.

Weekend Full of Sun

Amazing!!! We have been living in Eugene since August and this truly was the most gorgeous weekend thus far. 70 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday. We completed all of the yard work and I even had some time to lay out and soak up some rays. Unfortunately the rain will be returning tomorrow and the sun will be sadly missed. Tomorrow, we all need to think about Nikki and she embarks on a great adventure - running in the Boston Marathon...Good Luck Nicole!!!

And the week comes to an end...

Friday mornings I tend to look back on the week and think about everything I have done and whether or not there were things that I did not accomplish that I should have. I must say that this week I was in quite a funk and unfortunately did not get everything done that I should have. The weeds are still growing and the running shoes are still collecting dust in our closet. Goal this evening: to take care of the weeds out front - goal tomorrow: to undust those running shoes and put them to use again.

And the blogging begins...

Well, here I go! I am officially entering the big bad world of blogging. I am excited and yet not quite sure what to do or expect. Hopefully there will be others that jump on and follow me on this ride. Today, the 14th of April was not too eventful here in the Marshall home. Brian was clipped by a biker at UofO who caused him to spill all of his coffee before his first class. He was upset that the biker did not offer to buy him a new cup of coffee - needless to say he had a rough start to the day where as I had a rough ending. While making dinner I cut my thumb on a Henckel Knife - Sharp and Ouch!!!!
